      Hi Arun,

The program from IIM distance learning are worthy but they are just pure management programs designed for executives.

These are not equivalent to MBA by any means and not even like other diploma programs.

It won’t be considered a Master Degree.

Since your company is providing scholarship, try some foreign universities providing distance MBA too. In India, if you want a recognizable degree, then go for IGNOU distance MBA. There are other options but these are the best in your specific case.

However, please call up IIMs for the final word and then take your decision. ATB for IIM distance Learning.

Most of the things have been mentioned above, if there is something specific you want to know, please ask your question.

Also, IIM DO NOT offer MBA via distance learning. They just offer management programs via distance education. There is a huge difference between both. Please be aware of this before proceeding ahead.

I hope you are referring to ICFAI Distance MBA.

The worth of MBA – Please read this – http://www.mbadistancelearnings.com/is-mba-distance-learning-worth-it

ICFAI as a brand name is well known, but for monetary reasons + other aspects, compare it with IGNOU before taking the final decision.

The impact of distance MBA varies with each individual and his position and future opportunities. The best way to judge is ask seniors in your office who may have gone through similar problems.

      ATB for you studies.

      Hi,

If you are looking to do PHd, then going for government options would be better.

However, first you should consider the following things –

      1) Is PHd allowed (from the university you plan) for those who did PG from distance learning?
      2) If yes, then which distance learning do they recognize?

I would suggest you to take a look at IGNOU distance learning mba if you want to do PHd further. Private options may or may not be compatible and may result in a blockade for further studies.

We strongly suggest that you should check with the university – both from where you are doing PG and from where you want to do PHd because they can only give you best information.
