Fee Structure of Tamil Nadu Open University Distance MBA
The course fee is to be paid in two parts per year. The university fee is to be paid by core banking challan or by a demand draft drawn in favor of “Tamil Nadu Open University” which should be payable at Chennai. The fee for the study centre is to be paid in full by a demand draft which should be in the name of the “Programme Study Centre”.
The TNOU mba distance learning programme fee is Rs. 12750 while the course fee for the study centre is Rs. 17250. A one time of payment of Rs. 200 as registration fee is also required. Downloaded applications require an extra fee of Rs. 500. Paid fees cannot be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances.
Further Details About Tamil Nadu Open University Distance MBA
The admission period starts from July 1st and goes up to December 31st. Admission is granted to a candidate based on his/her eligibility. The candidate is supposed to fill an application form mentioning all the relevant details and submit it to the University Office.
The application form can be obtained from the University head quarters or from any of the programme study centres. Attested copies of the required documents are also to be attached along with the application form.
The University evaluates the submitted form for the eligibility of the candidate and programme fee, and thereafter informs the candidate confirming his/her admission.
A candidate in order to be eligible for the course has to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The minimum duration of the program is two years and the maximum is eight years.
The mode of imparting education is English. A candidate’s performance is evaluated based on continous assessments and term end examinations.
Continous assessments have a weightage of 25 marks while the term-end examinations constitute 75 marks out of the total 100 marks. In order to pass, a student has to secure a minimum of 34 marks in each term-end examination out of 75. Moreover the total percentage of the student should be 50%.
Students are provided with self instructional study material. Regular evaluations in the form of assignments also form an integral part of the curriculum.
The concerned study centre endeavors to encourage the students to regularly submit their assessment assignments. The assignments are submitted to the course coordinator, which can be done via email.
Every programme study centre maintains a dedicated website which can be used by students to receive and send their assignments.
It is essential for the candidates to be regular with their assignments. The assignments need to be submitted at the respective study centre before the commencement of the term-end examination.
To obtain the degree, it is required from the candidates to enroll themselves for a field work in their first year of study; while in the second year they have to submit a project work.
The topic of the project work has to be chosen by the candidate in the beginning of the second year and a proposal is to be submitted to the school of management studies. Once the project topic has been approved, the candidate can begin working on it.
A mba distance learning degree is not conferred to the candidate unless he/she fulfills the above mentioned requirements.
